About

Who is Kim Klyberg?

I am a sports-loving gal originally from Lincoln, R.I. and have been living in Washington, D.C. since 1990. In my professional life I am currently a Manager of Meeting Systems for the American Association for the Advancement of Science. The association hosts a multidisciplinary annual meeting that includes researchers, academics, science-policy makers and students. My role is to manage the meeting registration and the e-posters (general session and the student competition). My department (Office of Meetings and Special Events), also assists with other activities at AAAS such as workshops, lectures, award ceremonies and webinars so I have experience with coordinating group travel and hotel reservations, catering and audio/visual needs.

In March of 2013 I completed a certificate course in Digital Media Skills at The American University in Washington, DC. Coursework included web design, social media and digital video editing (examples of these skills can be found on this website).

In May of 2018 I became a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) and in October of 2019 I passed the certification exam to become a Digital Event Strategist. Who could have imagined that online events would be the new normal in 2020 but I was able to hit the ground running!
